The 2012 POWERTRIX Coilovers Group
Buy has officially started and is
now in effect as of TODAY. Please
read this entire posting thoroughly
as is contains much detail on time
frames and deadlines.
Like our last group buy we are going
to try to get a jump on production
so that way the time frame is as
short as possible. We will be
submitting our Production order
FRIDAY
DECEMBER 23rd so we would
like to get the most accurate count
of the different coilovers models we
need to product to fill everyone’s
particular/custom order.
Since Ride quality is a big concern,
our 7k/5k spring rates are now
offered both Sport Street and RT
Coilovers (previously known as the
Race Coilovers)
We can also customize spring rates
for any line of coilovers we offer.
There is one change but only to the
name of our Race Coilovers as we
feel that some are avoiding the Race
coilovers due to the name suggesting
that that they are too harsh on the
street. On the contrary, the Race
coilovers which will now be named RT
coilovers as they work great on both
the Road and on the Track. Many use
this coilover on an everyday basis
and it is designed for daily use
however the struts are valved with
more performance orientation on the
stiffer settings of the 15 way
damper adjustments.

The POWERTRIX Sport Street Coilover
System is the most complete and
fully featured street Coilover kit
on the market. Unlike all other
entry level units on the market
which required the use of the stock
shock upper mounts and bushings, the
Sport Street Coilover System is now
complete with upper mounting
hardware and is now a true complete
bolt in system. With our new SS
Coilovers, the tedious process of
disassembling the stock shock upper
mounts and bushings just to find out
that you may need to buy new
hardware is now non-existent with
the installation. These new SS upper
mounts are fitted with a synthetic
butyl bushing in place of a pillow
ball. This bushing combines just
enough density to transfer
suspension energy properly yet not
overly stiff to help with dampening
the stiff ride quality that is
inherent with conventional race
Coilovers and solid pillow ball
mounts.
Also unlike most entry level
coilovers, that adjust ride height
through spring preload, the
POWERTRIX SS adds an extra dimension
of adjustment with independent ride
height adjust-ability through the
threaded bottom mounting brackets.
With this set up it properly
separates spring preload and ride
height, a feature only found on
upper line coilovers.
Geared for the aggressive everyday
street driver with the occasional
autocross and road course event, 15
way adjustable strut dampening is
valved a notch softer that our full

The Ultra-lite Race Coilovers are
the ultimate in all around
performance and handling. It also
features the aluminum pillow ball
upper mounts and independent ride
height and spring preload
adjustability. For the serious
Motorsports competitor, the
Ultra-lite version shares all the
same features of the Race version
but incorporates aluminum strut
housings for an approximate 10%
decrease in weight making them the
competitor’s choice for those
watching un-sprung weight. We have
used these coilovers for dual duty,
Drag and Autocross setups with great
Success. With all the adjustment and
spring options, it is possible to
set up the vehicle to meet all
situations and scenarios. Thought
the strut housing is aluminum to
save weight, the POWERTRIX
Ultra-lite coilovers use heat
tempers forged steel for bottom
mounting cups (where other companies
use aluminum) for maximum strength
where is it needed the most at the
point of where the coilover assembly
bolts to the hub of the car.
The Ultra Lite Race Coilovers
aluminum shock bodies make an entire
assembly approximately 2-3 lbs
lighter than the standard Race
version coilover assembly. Though
this does not sound like a lot, it
can make a big difference
performance-wise when the dynamics
of sprung vs. un-sprung weight is
considered.
Sprung weight is defined as a parts
weight while in motion or constant
oscillation. Un-sprung weight is the
actual weight of the part as it is
at rest or not in motion. Sprung
weight is calculated to be
approximately 3-4 time its un-sprung
weight.
Therefore a coilover assemble that
is 2-3 time lighter than another can
be as much as 6-12 lbs lighter while
in motion, so calculating that
savings on each corner of the car
can be as much as 24-48 lbs of weigh
savings.

All coilover kits are rebuild-able
so it will be the last strut and
spring combination you will ever
need. Fine tuning of the suspension
is also possible for any and every
type of driving style, or
motorsports events as custom spring
rates are available from 3kg/mm (168
lbs/in) – 17kg/mm (952 lbs/in)
Note: + or – 2k on spring rate
changes will require re-valving.
